March 2026 Release Notes | Address Validation

Description

Address Validation is a new feature in the GovDocs Postings Dashboard that automatically validates every location address against USPS and Canada Post postal data and displays the result directly on the Locations tab. Customers can now see the validation status of every location in their account at a glance, identify addresses that need attention, and take action without leaving the Dashboard.

This is net-new functionality. No existing address fields or location workflows have been changed or removed.

User Impact

Address Validation is available to all Postings customers. Every location in a customer's account is automatically assigned one of three statuses:

What it means


Action needed?


Address Validated The address matches USPS or Canada Post postal data and is formatted to their standards. None
Address Error USPS or Canada Post could not verify the address. A specific error code identifies what could not be validated. Review and correct recommended. Unresolved errors may result in delivery issues or reshipment costs.
User Reviewed A user has reviewed the address and chosen to keep it as entered. The address remains invalid but has been acknowledged. No immediate action required. Address remains invalid and may result in delivery or reshipment costs.

No additional permissions are required. All users with access to the Locations tab will see Address Validation statuses automatically.

Location

Locations tab in the GovDocs Dashboard. Customers will see:

  • A new Status column on their Locations tab displaying the validation status for every location
  • A new Status filter to sort and isolate locations by Address Validated, Address Error, or User Reviewed
  • A yellow banner alert at the top of the Locations tab when any locations in the account have Address Errors
  • A popover when clicking an Address Error status, showing the specific error and two action options: Edit Address or Mark User Reviewed

Address Error Codes

Each Address Error includes a specific error message identifying what could not be validated. The following error codes are in use: View Error Code Guide
