Fill in the Blank FAQs

General Questions

What is Fill in the Blank (FITB) Fill in the Blank refers to labor law postings that require organizations to add company - or location - specific information, like a workers' compensation carrier or emergency contact, before the posting is fully compliant.
How many states require Fill in the Blank postings? As of August 2026, 40 states plus Washington D.C. have at least one posting with a Fill in the Blank requirement.
What kind of information might I need to provide? The exact fields depend on your posting's state, county, or city.

Permissions & Access

Who can use this feature? Anyone with Postings access, including customers with Intranet Poster Program-only access, who now have a FITB tab in the Dashboard.
Can more than one person on my team edit this information? Yes. Anyone with Posting Dashboard access can edit. Since only the most recent save is kept, we recommend designating one owner to avoid overwriting each other's updates.
Will my remote employees need to log in to view digital postings now?

Yes, for your company-specific information to populate in your digital postings it will require a Single Sign On (SSO) login step from your remote workforce. This step protects your company data on your unique postings link.

Contact your Customer Success Manager to set up your SSO login.

Do I need to do anything to see the Fill in the Blank experience in my Postings Dashboard?

No action is needed. Add your data whenever you are ready. For it to populate directly to your digital posting link, you will need to enable SSO. Contact your Customer Success Manager to start that process.

Will this change my existing IPP link? No, your existing IPP link keeps working. Logging in is only required for your remote workers and it's accessed via the same URL.

Workflow Questions

I don't see an Edit option on a posting. Why? That posting doesn't support saved data entry. The Download functionality is available for an interactive, fillable PDF instead.
Do I need to save my information in more than one place?

No. Update it in the centralized Fill in the Blank tab for it to save with your data. When the posting updates, it will automatically populate there with the new update to digital postings and in the Posters tab.

Pro Tip: Communicate to site managers when a posting updates to fill in the new poster at their location!

Can I download a filled-in PDF for offline use? Yes, once you save your data, you can download a completed flattened PDF version. This is a great resource to send to site managers as an example of what to fill in on their physical postings.

Technical Questions
